Thats always my first comment. I always tell people, " I don't even touch the paint".
The disrespectful are the main reason I quit doin car shows.

ARGH! I hate this excuse with a passion! The other day I was detailing an AMG CL55 in a business park and this guy with the same truck as me rolled up and started asking if I wanted to wash his car too. I was like "sure, it costs $199.99," and he was like "lol, it's a truck, I don't need it that clean" and then started talking about how you can't apply wax in the sun. I guess he didn't see the canopy off to the side that was blocking out the 9:00am sun. I went back to buffing out the swirls I was working on...
Best part: His truck died before he could pull away. LOL. I'm pretty sure it was an automatic too so I have no idea how he killed it. KARMA!

Re: Why do people have to touch and run their fingers over our paint?
I almost forgot why I was going to originally post on this thread. I don't mind when people touch my truck or my other daily driver. I encourage it! I keep a Megs clay kit in my truck at all times. Whenever we are at a party or family get together with lots of people I will QD a panel and clay half of it to demo how big of a difference you get when you clay. My brother-in-law yesterday was like "When did the Sham-Wow guy get here?" LOL

Even while gassing up my Camaro today someone comes over to ask me what kind of mileage it gets. He even starts to touch it. Can he tell what MPG it gets?
This happened to me at the autoparts store as well today.
Anyone else have this problem?

I wish our cars were like boobies, you can stare at them but don't touch unless you want a slap in the face

In all honesty, I think 'touching' is a human trait.
You see something nice and it's kinda natural to wanna touch it. (Wow, does that sentence leave a lot of imagination or what?)

You touch the paint before you do the car to see if its smooth to clay bar.... Now if its not a clients car there is no reason for it to be touched

Re: Why do people have to touch and run their fingers over our paint?
After I detail my car and go to car meets, people always walk up and run their finger on the hood and tell me how smooth it is.... I cringe when they do that.
