Got hit at a parking lot today..
Well, my dad's truck did. He went to a couple of stores today and didn't notice the damage til he got home. Some a-hole hit his truck right in the rear driver's side fender flare. Luckily it was only the fender which can be easily replaced.
At first glance, I thought it was paint transfer from the other vehicle, but it's not. Even though it's not exactly my car, I'm just so frustrated that people are senseless pricks and do stuff like this. At least man-up and leave a note or something.
My question is, what would you guys do in a situation like this? File insurance claim? Pay out of pocket for repair? I don't really know a whole lot about this type of stuff. Now on to the pics...

That sucks!
Pay out of pocket would be my choice

Go get some estimates from body shops and base your decision on that....

Pay out of pocket. To repaint a fender is in the neighborhood of $500.
Most peoples insurance plans are $500 to $1000 deductible and insurance "may" go up from their.

Get an estimate, make sure you tell them that it is NOT insurance claim (price inflate)
If you try getting insurance to pay you probably have $500.00 deductible anyway.Once you file the claim it counts against you as if it was your fault since you were involved in a accident. Pay for it ,,forget insurance and move on!

I'd probably pay for it out of pocket.

Something small like that seems easier to just pay for!

easy out of pocket. If I were you I would remove the flare from the truck and just bring it to the body shop. That way they do not charge you to take it off and put it back on. It shouldnt cost more then $200 and thats probably pushing it, I am just figuring they might need to put some filler or sand down if there are creases or anything on the fender flare
