    1967 Mustang Fastback GT - 10.27/130mph

    1967 Mustang Fastback GT - 10.27/130mph

This car belongs to my friend Dana Sniff of Dana Sniff Transmissions in Irvine, California.

    Specs
    1967 Mustang Fastback GT
    Factory S Code 390 4-Speed Car
351 Cleavland bored and stroked to 379 cubic inches
Dana Sniff C4 With Transbrake and Edge Racing Converter - 5500RPM Stall
    10.27/130mph
    Owner: Dana Sniff
    Driver: Dennis Sniff

    Sponsors
    Edge Racing Converters
    Rex Buxton Motorsports
    Dana Sniff Transmissions

I met Dana via a mutual car buddy when looking to have the 700R4 Transmission in my 1975 Jimmy rebuilt and made bulletproof. I purposefully sought out and purchased a 1985 700R4 3-speed with Overdrive Transmission as sometime in 1986 GM switched to a computer controlled brain for the 700R4 Transmissions. Nothing wrong with that but I wanted the simple 1-wire in version for simplicity sake.

Dana sent me the above pictures so I thought I would share them on the forum as his Mustang looks pretty cool pulling the front wheels off the ground when their launching.

A shout out to Dana too, transmission has worked flawlessly from the time day I put it in...

You've just got to love those strolls down memory lane! Some don't have enough respect for automatic transmissions but when done correctly they're great!

A gorgeous Mustang and look at those slicks wrinkle!!

It brings back some very nice memories of Terminal Island in the mid-late 70's. I remember bench pressing a built automatic trannie into place for a 69 or 70 fastback for a buddy. I think it was an 11 second car.

I forgot how much fun we had until I saw the pictures. Thanks for sharing!

    Thanks for posting this Mike.

My first real car was almost identical to that one... '67 GT fastback, factory 4-speed and factory 390. When I bought it the 390 had been replaced with a 351 Cleveland out of a Cougar Eliminator. It beat everything I ever raced (which wasn't many).

I had dreams of doing a total restore on it and building an FE block to put in it, but once I had saved enough (years) to get started on it I decided to keep the money and sell it to a friend. I still have some extra parts hanging in the rafters of my garage.
