Mazda6 / Navigation Question
For those who dont know,
this is the interior of a 2003 Mazda6.
If you notice the compartment that has the tv screen in it, that is not stock. So does anyone have any idea of how much that would cost me to put that in there?
And what I could include? What is important for me is to have that display navigation as well as possibly include an input so I could plug in my mp3 player into it and play music via the car speakers.
Thanks

Re: Mazda6 / Navigation Question
I'm guessing roughly $1500-$2000 for fabrication and installation and around $1200-$2000 for the parts depending on what system you go with.

Re: Mazda6 / Navigation Question
Looks like they used a Garmin and just installed into the spare glove box.It isn't motorized there isn't enough room for it to slide down. They made of made a base for it to sit on and then just pops up ir they just tilt it up . Some of the high end Navs use blue tooth and if it has an input for mps it would be an FM modulated one . But bottom line it just looked they have a plan old Nav standing up in the storage compartment.

Re: Mazda6 / Navigation Question
Actually there were more pictures of this. It is a carputer and it does fold down.
For that much money it is definately not worth getting it, could get a new for that much.
How much would just putting a GPS into there that I already own cost me or how would I go about doing it?

Also, does anyone know how to go about making a AUX IN in my car?
The car does not come with one stock but I have heard of people finding very simple ways to do it

Re: Mazda6 / Navigation Question
Since you have the parts, it would still probaly cost around $500-$1000 for fabrication and installation if they have to cut the dash and install hinges. And thats on the low end. Your better off coming up with your own design and making something neat.

Re: Mazda6 / Navigation Question
Idk if this is considered competition since Autogeek doesn't sell electronics but....Mazda 02+ Auxiliary interface If it breaks the rules just remove it please and thank you. Sorry if it is against the rules I'm still new here.

Thank you for the link i will consider it definately. Got to do some research on this.
When they say connect to car stereo what would i actually be connecting it to? Would i have to open up the dashboard?

Re: Mazda6 / Navigation Question
Yea you will have to slide the radio out. You won't have to take the entire dash apart though. I've installed many sound systems, and its not as hard as it seems.
