Personally, I'd rather just go wherever the best information resources are. Hence why I visit this site.
What site is not run by a vendor? It takes $$$$$$$$$$$ to make things work right?

Exactly. Plus there's a big difference between a site being directly run by a vendor and a site being funded by a number of sponsors with a much less equitable interest in how the forum is run as a whole -- which is the way a lot of forums operate.

Exactly.
For example, Autogeek is a sponsor at DetailCity, along with several other vendors.

Well, it depends on whether you consider the owner's business interests in companies/products he owned (detailing specific) while running the place.

Maybe he's talking about the old eBook DavidB had written way back in 2000-01...
Or that he promoted a different specific vendor's in-house products in the eBook (I won't mention their name since they're still in business and a key competitor of AG, but anyone who was around then should know who I'm referring to)
