Glad it was a simple fix. What did they say about using touchless car wash?
Maybe stick to once a week through tunnel wash? Not only might problem reoccur but it can be tough on your paint. I have one less than a mile from my house andxalthough it can be tempting I only use it 4-6 times a year.

They said nothing about the carwash and a part of me hears yah but the other part says "no issues the calender year"
As far as the paint goes, yeah, I don't wanna "wash the paint off"

My thinking is not that the sensor just stopped working all of a sudden. But maybe something that wore out over time. Not the sensor got wet but maybe vibrations f’d it up.
But if dealer didn’t say anything and your still under warranty, touchless away!

I get the "worn out" idea but what do you think could wear out

Maybe the high pressure wash is causing it to vibrate in a different way than driving?
I’m guessing the woulda said something if that was it…
Other thing is all that high pressure and strong chemical not good for paint. Especially if you plan to keep this long term

They said something about it spraying into the grill but they were "spit balling" and besides, how about 15 minutes of driving through a storm on the highway, much more water going through the grill.
I hope it's "just one of those things"

I'm wondering if shuting the car off during the wash would help, what do you think

If the sensor was getting wet or even shaken, turning the car off would only stop current from flowing to the sensor; it will still get wet and shake. Turning off the car wouldn't really change anything. I would scratch it up to a faulty sensor and hopefully a one-off failure. Don't over think it and just keep driving!

Yeah, none of that flies IMO. Sometimes the best answer is just "We don't know why it failed, we're sorry for the trouble, but at least you are covered" instead of just making #### up. If you don't know, you don't know; grasping for lame ass excuses just makes them look bad.
