I wish I could have seen Snapcase back in those days... I don't think that hardcore is dead, it's just evolved. There's still people printing zines, there's still good music out there, hell, there's even a few good record stores still around. I understand what you're saying, but don't walk into Hot Topic and think that's what hardcore is today. There are still kids going to shows in the basements of VFW halls and other kids' basements running around in circle pits and screaming their lungs out.

not for the better for the most part, most of it is re-hashed and already been done and not remotely interesting (about 95% of the bands today) to catch my attention (use to work in a record store for 10+ years and heard soooo many promos from just about every band imaginable and worked with music snobs LOL). this is one label/fanzine (very DIY) that got me into alot of hardcore/punk/indie/etc. back over 15+ years ago....

one thing i like about Snapcase is they have uplifting and positive lyrics (too many bands these days sing about nonsense). not to mention.. most all the band have gone to college and are well educated (i think a few are teachers) and not have to rely on music to make a living...

    do you know yourself
    do you know the others
can you pull the weight that rides on another's shoulders
once you've lost yourself to the acceptance mask
    well could you find yourself
    it's not a simple task
    self-inherence
    freedom
    comes from within
    take a different track
it's time to see what you are made of
    can you expose yourself
can you peel off another layer
    will you make the time
    the time to control
because only you can save yourself
only you can save your soul
    and once you save yourself
    insecurities will die
    genuine qualities
    and true character will shine
now that you belong to you
    what will the others think
    well, soon they'll follow you
you'll see they're all so weak
    come on
    can you, let go
    can you, be you
