funny about your ride that is. how many of you park way out, so no one parks right up beside you and opens their doors onto your ride?
how many of you use towels on the floorboard to help keep the carpet clean?
how many of you spend hours washing waxing, cleaning you ride inside and out?
well i am one of those people. go with me to walmart, be prepared to walk a long way to get to the building.
some friends laugh at me, and say, oh park here, close to the store, it will just take a minute. yea right, in one minute,a car door will hit my flawless paint.
but, give them a porter cable, and tell them to spend 6 hours on their rides, and let them know how hard of work it takes to keep one clean,and i will bet, they will start to pride their car, just as much as i do mine,and they will think twice about how close to park.
is anyone in the same boat as me????

Yes and no.

No towels on the floor, but I usually ask passengers if they would like me to drop them off at the door or they can walk back with me.
I also know the parking spots that are extra wide in the lots we frequent. If you look around, there seems to usually be a spot or two where the parking lot stripers mismeasured and left a space or two wider than the others.

Haha I think most of the people on this forum are like that! I know I am.

At the parking building I park in for work, I always park next to one of the structure support columns because I can park close to that and leave lots of room away from the other car space next to mine.

In parking lots, I'm the same as you, I'll keep driving till I see a space that I feel is safe for my car (and not next to the type of car that fills the stereotype of someone who wouldn't care if they hit your car with their door.... usually a 2005 or earlier BMW 3 series.... LOL!)

People who hit other doors just annoy me....but this is brilliant:

I don't put towels down, but I park far away and never, never near a shopping cart receptacle!

I put too much time and energy to get the paint mucked up by a door ding or shopping cart ding.

I once 5 stepped my car and drove around some water running down the street by our local fire department so I don't get splashes on it. I laughed to myself.....

I always park far away. And unless its real sunny outside I dont park directly under trees. Thats just asking for bird bombs. And you always get bird bombs right after you wash your car lol

Yep, far away. Here's another one you may or may not have thought about. I've got to find the high spots of the parking lot so shopping carts don't roll into my car.
