Car Wax Gel/Liquid from early 1990's Unkown Brand

I used to buy this stuff from target in the early 1990's. I dont know if it was a car wax or what it was called. It started as one of those "as seen on tv" things. Usually I dont find those products all that special, but this stuff worked great on my car. It was a liquid or gel that you would wipe on a clean car. It would dry to a haze then you would hose it off, no buffing wiping nothing. The resulting shine in my car far surpassed anything I had ever used, including spending hours buffing the car. I bought it for several years from Target then it disapeared and I forgot about it. It was in a green bottle and I think it was called something like Pyramid 2000 or sounded like that. I actually would regularly get comments from poeople as to who did my car wax. The cars shine was like a mirror and this was on a 10 year old paint job.

Does anyone remember this product and what it was called? Do they still make it or something similar? I appreciate any help, thanks.

I vaguely remember a Turtle Wax product in a lime green bottle called Finish 2000.
I think it is now called Finish 2001.
I never used it, but I don't recall it making a big splash in the market. It seems like it was very low priced. Like under $4 per 16 oz.

I call spammer. But that is cool....just apply the stuff and then hose it off instead of buffing? Makes me wonder whether you're actually applying anything real to your car or not!

I will keep this brief as my last post was lost. Thank you sir for finding the Finish 2001, thats the stuff! I remember now that hosing it off didnt work well for me. I would apply and powerwash it off. The longer you wait the better the shine but the longer you wait the harder it was to powerwash it off. Awesome stuff, I will see if I can find it online.

I dont think they make Finish 2001 anymore unfortunatly. If you have a link to where to buy it please let me know or PM me. I can give the Durashine the other gentlman mentioned a try.

The Finish 2001 is probably in the Turtle Was line now called F21,

Do a Google search for Turtle Wax or Finish 2001,
You will find several links to the product.

Just my opinion, but I do think you could probably find a better product with less effort.
I haven't used it, but I don't recall anyone posting any glowing reviews, either.

My dad actually has 3 full bottles of this stuff on his shelf! He loves the stuff, I absolutely hate it. In my experience it held up ok, but the shine was far from brilliant. It was also a pain to take off if I remember correctly. (I didn't know about the water method) There are so many better waxes out there on shelves now. Meg Gold class paste wax is a very good OTC wax. Goes on nice and comes off nice. Or, from what I've read, just about any wax from autogeek is pretty descent.
