    Wax the kitchen faucet?

Okay, this has been eating at me and I'm sure someone on here can provide some food for thought.

About a year ago, we had new Corian kitchen counters installed with the seamless sink. With a new sink, required a new kitchen faucet. I ordered a stainless Moen Woodmere from their ShowHouse line.

In the manual under care instructions, it states that "To preserve the finish on the metallic parts of your Moen faucet, apply a non-abrasive wax, such as car wax."

Well as we all know, there is no such thing as a simple car wax. At least not for those of us that frequent AG. My collection probably isn't as crazy as some, but it ranges from products by Pinnacle, PB, DP, Meg's, etc.

I was thinking of throwing on a coat of Max Wax and see how that works or try some XMT on it. I guess I could go really overboard and throw on some Fuzion.

    What do you guys think?

    Brian

That is too funny! I was just thinking about doing the same to our faucet to see if it helps with all the water spots and stuff!

I would suggest a sealer, like the NXT 2.0 you suggested. This will also prevent, or help prevent any hard water or lime accumulation, if you have that problem in your area.

Funny! I actually went around my house about a year ago and put a coat of NXT on anything that I thought should have a shine. It worked in that everything had nice shine to it. However, the faucet shine didnt last all that long as it seems the sealer is easily removed by the dish soap when I wipe everything down after washing the dishes etc. My wife thought I was crazy for waxing the toaster and stove.

I put sealant on our one piece shower/tub so the soap scum doesn't stick to the sides. It makes cleanups way less frequent and the tub looks better when its dry. I also take my rotary and a soft foam pad to the top of our glass cooktop and use the recommended polish to remove all the gunk that gets burned on from use. I find if you tell your wife the detailing tools are for cleaning around the house she won't freak out when the cc bill come in.
