    chilly checking in

First, a big thanks to Silly Rabbit for reaching out to me on another site and trying his best to get me some help over here

Thanks to Bill D and Opie for reaching out as well

I am not sure how I got back on and I still don't know what my password is but for the moment I am signed back in to the forum using Safari and the password that was stored in my Apple keychain, although if I try to use that as my old password to set a new password, it rejects it

I cannot get on using Brave browser although that is what I have used almost exclusively for the last several years

I tried turning off my VPN and that had no effect

I tried my Duck Duck Go browser and it wouldn't work either

I have cleared the cache and cookies on both these browsers, deleted them, and dowloaded them again with the same results

I even tried downloading Chrome but none of the passwords, including the one that finally got me on today, would work

I tried a number of times to change my password and it kept telling me that neither my user name and email were correct and when I reached out I never got an email response from the site mods

I tried creating new accounts with new user names and new emails several times and never got the confirmation email I was supposed to get

I tried emailing the mods directly and never got a response

I am not sure what the issue is but I am not the only one affected

I met Max Burks (MAXBKS on AGO) over at the other site and he has the exact same issue as I do and it happened at about the same time as it did to me

He hasn't been able to log in or get a single response from the mods either

I have no idea what else to do or try and if the mods won't help I feel like I am on borrowed time

Despite all the hoops you had to jump through, I'm glad you finally made it back. A big thumbs down to all who are absent or refused to help. This place is clearly not what it used to be

Great to see you on here again!!!
I still do think being on multiple forums is a good thing. And this is an example, if something happens on a forum at least people can still stay in touch on other forums. This, Autopia, MP site, etc.

    Re: chilly checking in

To make it even weirder I downloaded TapaTalk a few minutes ago and was only able to sign in using my Apple ID, not a user name and password, so I am even more confused now

I know an iPhone remembers stuff even if you delete an app so maybe that is the explanation for TapaTalk

Never heard of Tapatalk requiring Apple ID and password. That’s new to me. I have contacted Tapatalk a few times in the past for different issues and Chris has always been helpful. I feel like I know him/her already

    Re: chilly checking in

Signing in with Apple was just one of the options, the others being Facebook and other social media accounts, none of which I have

I think that is just for signing into TapaTalk, not any of the forums within TapaTalk, but by signing in that way AGO came up fully functional and already signed in

I am feeling old and technology challenged right now

Every five minutes I feel more technologically challenged because of things I find moronic. Unfortunately I'm going to have to deal with it for the rest of my life

Good to see you got back on, however you did it. There's a few people who seem to have disappeared from here, but you never know if it was their choice or not, unless they come back and let us know. So I'm guessing there may be some others who are in the same boat, but haven't figured it out, or have just given up.
