Need opinions on a 'Before' & 'After' cosmetic modification
I did this a few years ago with RUSTOLEUM "Peel Coat" and it lasted quite a while before the "paint" started wearing off and peeling. This time I used FLEX Tape (yes, the stuff you see on TV). I had bought a small roll to fix a leak in my shower, and when I was looking up vinyl sheets to redo the bowtie, it occurred to me that I still had the Flex Tape.
This stuff has some incredibly NASTY adhesive on it, so I'm NOT worried about it coming off. In fact, I would trim the vinyl with a new razor blade, then have to go back and trim the ADHESIVE layer - it's THAT thick and tough.
But back to the point, which one do you guys like better - the Gold bowtie, or the Black?
Let me know.

I'd go with the black as well.

Definitely the black. When I had my mustang and blacked out all the badges I didn’t want to mess with taking off the front pony.
I ended up coating with plasti dip from a rattle can and still looked good after 2 years.
The flex seal will probably outlast the car
Came out nice.

I like the black better.
I'm not a fan of murdered out vehicles, but in this case you are keeping the silver/polished surround on the bowtie so there is still some contrast which will make it stand out. The rest of your car is black with silver accents at the wheels and exhaust. The gold doesn't match or complement anything else on the car and stands out in a bad way.
Can you go one step further and remove it totally, or is it a part of the grill. I'm actually a big fan of de-badging cars. Often it cleans up the looks of the car, not to mention makes them easier to clean.
