My garage is empty, I got rid of the Camaro

    TEMPORARILY!!!!!

Last Fall, about the same time I decided to burn ALL of my accrued time, then retire, the Camaro developed a few issues. Such as a LF wheel bearing starting to groan, and a warning message of "Engine Power Reduced," which put the car in "Limp Home Mode," unable to rev over 3K RPMS (7K redline), and made it a REAL bear to drive - especially if I had to get on the freeway.

My wife and I decided that since I was basically killing time to retirement, and didn't need the car everyday to get to work, to "store it for the winter" (believe it or not, that was originally HER idea, so the car lasts longer). Then fix it in the Spring with our tax refund. Well the tax refund came, and so did the tow truck, to take it to the shop (a sponsor of, and recommended by my Camaro Club) to fix everything, which now ALSO includes the alternator, because the bearings in the alternator decided to freeze up during storage When I started the car (AFTER charging the battery from DEAD), the volt meter only read 10.8 volts) and the alternator was growling like an angry dog.

Even though this was a PLANNED event yesterday, I was still unbelievably HARD watching the car being pulled up on the flat bed to go bye-bye ... and I KNOW it will be back in about 3 - 4 days ALL FIXED! Still almost a tear-jerker.

Here is a pic of my poor, EMPTY garage, and a couple of the evil tow truck, hooking up and driving away.

Today my Cadillac also saw a flat bed. It aparently has a dead fuel pump. So now it's at the shop getting several things fixed

Fortunately the shop is as auto geek friendly as I can hope for

The empty spot in the garage is killing me though

A bunch of other things I'm likely getting too. There is such a void in my garage without the Caddy in it!

Tell me more. I’m interested in hearing about the possible list of things that could be fixed. Along with how much it’ll cost, because as we know they love to charge to fix Cadillacs. Lol

It’s funny you mention this as just a little while ago I was looking back at some old texts between a friend and I had told him about a large mechanic bill I once had that totaled $2,700 dollars and it reminded me of the list of things I had repaired. The more money you put into a car the less you want to part ways with it.
