Re: Portable Tire Inflator
Several companies make battery powered air compressors. You may be able to find one that already works with your cordless tool batteries.
I got one because I'm constantly adjusting tire pressure at autocross events or helping out others who need air at those events. I was first shown the DeWalt one listed below at a race event, and ended up with the Craftsman listed below. I've never used the battery part, but know several people who do with no issues. Both units are nice because they can take power from the battery, 12v outlet in a car, or a wall socket,
V20* Cordless Inflator (Tool Only) | CRAFTSMAN
20V MAX* Corded/Cordless Air Inflator | DEWALT

How much did the Craftsman cost?

Re: Portable Tire Inflator
These days you can get it at several places like Lowes and Amazon for around $80. I bought mine a couple years ago when Lowes was running an after-Christmas sale so I paid less...I think around $65.
Price is what drove me to the Craftsman over the DeWalt. I have DeWalt batteries and a couple tools from that brand, but it was double the price. I used a fellow driver's Craftsman compressor at an event and found it did the job just as well, so I had no issues going with the less expensive tool and just plugging it into the 12v outlet in my car. Works great when plugged into the wall socket too. I primarily use it for tires on all of our cars, but since buying it I've inflated air mattresses and a couple basketballs too.

Re: Portable Tire Inflator
Not bad. I think the additional ability to use a battery and additional other built-in airing ports/hoses to do things like low-pressure air mattress and sports equipment fills drives of the cost over a tool dedicated just to tires.

It’s not just for tires. It came with extra nozzles to inflate other things too. AC/DC, but no battery power. [there’s 1 more attachment not pictured. It’s in the trunk of my car right now]

Re: Portable Tire Inflator
I used this one to inflate my tires. Down about 12 psi each. Did 2 tires then needed a recharge. Look for something a little more stout next time.
