Picture size limit change?

Recently I've had issues uploading pictures.
I get an error stating it needs to be max of 640×480, or something like that.

As recently as December 15th, I had no issues with bigger pictures (4032x1816).

I know there was a limit to the file size (mb), but now there's a pixel limit.

Did something change?

Ever since I joined a few years ago, the only limitation was mb. I think it may have automatically resized when uploading.

I'm stuck in the city (St. Paul, MN), so I don't get the 'north woods' look, but snow on the trees look similar.

Both show up to me as 640 x 288.

Yeah, that's one example.
Before, I would get an error if the data size (mb) too large, but never error stating WxH limitation.
Maybe it changed? I don't think I'm doing anything different.

Oh well, might have to try tapatalk.
