Re: No one on my block washes their cars

I personally keep the lawns and car's clean but other's that live in the Grandview Drive estate wouldn't even know if their car was on fire (head up ass syndrome)

I guess what I don't understand is how people can go and spend tens of thousands of dollars on a new car and then treat it like an appliance. Every time I look at one of our two cars I remind myself how much that thing cost.

Even if someone leases the car they will face penalties if they turn it in with excessive wear yet so many still treat them like appliances. SMH
Treat it like it's the only one in the world.

That’s cuz dealer don’t really notice and if it’s a brand they would you just get it polished and waxed and your good.

Note to others: if your going to look for a new car, never detail or clean it. If you keep your interior clean throw some clothes and trash around.

    That's my view as well.

Lots of people here like the big truck but would scruff at someone spending $25 for a spray wax yet they are spending thousands on a truck they don't need just to pickup the groceries. It's ironic but typical. People have a herd mentality.

Most people clean clean their stoves every once in a while. What has always bothered me was people who obviously have enough money to purchase a cool and expensive vehicle and then proceed to totally trash it. I guess disposable income leads to disposable cars.

A lot of people will when buying a new car clean their car or have it detailed thinking they’ll get most for car. A car lot knows how to polish up to look good for sale.

But it you Detail it or have it detailed they KNOW you are looking for a new car. Will try harder to play hardball.

If your car is dirty on outside and messy on inside they don’t know how serious you are…. Mighta just stopped by to look at the pretty car on corner display.

If they don’t think your intent was to go in and buy a car but that you just randomly stopped by the will work harder because your intent to buy goes out the window. Basically an impulse buy.

Ah, now I get what you're saying.

But one time I did detail one of my cars before I went to a dealer, I looked at the car they had, then said I need to check out the same car at the dealer down the road, they knew I was serious, but didn't want me to walk out. They knew the dealer down the road had a very similar car, but couldn't risk me looking at it. So they gave me the changeover I wanted, and the repayments were good, so I bought it.

He also said because it was ready to go on the lot, he said he gave me an extra 1k on the trade in, yeah I know, he's a used car salesman, if he's talking he's lying, but it was on their website the next day, and on the lot with a price in the window too. 8k more than they gave me for the trade, but I tracked it on their website, they sold it for about 2k above what they gave me, and it took them 2 months.

Yeah it cost them about $250-350 to get lot ready. Maybe a little more. My friend owns a detail shop and does a couple of the bigger dealerships out here. Alot are starting to do in-house.

Yeah if it’s new now A days there’s not much gross… at least when supply chains are normal. They have loved the last few years…
