Inflation! $$
There is a current thread on detailing product inflation. Grocery shop lately? *OUCH* It's getting bad here. What I use to buy for $30-$40 is now $70-$80. Crazy. EVERYTHING is on the up & up. Don't know how large families are dealing with keeping the basics on the table.

Re: Inflation! $$
Same here, weekly grocery shop is going crazy. We've also had a lot of flooding to deal with here in the last year, so fresh food is getting even more expensive. Power prices are going up, we have solar panels, so it's not as bad for us. But the annoying thing is, the feed in tariff, what they pay us for electricity from our solar panels isn't rising at all, but what they charge us for the electricity is going up. Once again the little man gets ripped off.
We did get a surprise this week, they announced that our inflation rate had dropped from 7.3% to 6.9% last month. Yet to see any difference though.

It doesn't help that every product manufacturer learned during the pandemic that "shortages" mean profits.
And they're still playing that card......
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

Re: Inflation! $$
Definitely concerns me. I have a Facebook friend who's a single mother. Last week she made a post about her raggedy car falling apart. Yesterday she posted about her rent jumping 30%. Despite all of that she continues to be cheerful/positive (hate ppl like that! ..... j/k).
As much as I dislike parting with my money I feel lead to help but am concerned that I might be the next one needing help if things continue as they are now.
I'm not saying all of this for likes (could honestly care less....I'm still the same ahole you hated 5 minutes ago), but rather hoping others will take a look around for someone you could possibly help.
Your not going to be able to take your money with you and more then likely whoever inherits what you have won't spend it the way that you would. Might as well start giving it away now is my train of thought.

Re: Inflation! $$
Every company is raising their price blaming it on others doing the same so it’s snow ball effect. The only thing not going up is our salary. It’s ridiculous.
If one needs a new house or car now, forget about it, rates are insane.

Ya it’s scary. I have 3 kids. 10,4 & 2 plus my wife and I. We average $1,800 month for groceries and I’m genuinely concerned how much higher that bill will get over the next few years.
