Re: *Your first car*
Had a couple short-term rides previously, but this was my first "real" car when I went away to college in Michigan in 1969.
'64 Impala SS, 327-300HP, Muncie 4-spd and factory tach. It held its own in the Motown stoplight races with all but the serious muscle cars of the day. I've had a bunch of vehicles over the years, but this and one of my GM Square body short beds are the ones I would love to have back in the garage today along with my current El Camino.

MY first ride was a 1973 Ford LTD. Don’t have any pictures. It was brown in color. Washed it so mush the rear bumper finally fell off at a red light. The car ran better without the bumper and got better fuel mileage. Guess where the bumper was so heavy. They were actually made with metal back then.

Re: *Your first car*
BosKo, you’re bringing back some distant memory. My first car
was a 1967 Impala that I used for something the Marines called
“swooping.”
On Fridays at 4:30PM we would all meet at one place on base
for those who needed a ride within 500 miles of the base I would announce
where I was heading, pick up four riders, and drop them off at a gas station off Exit 7 of the New Jersey Turnpike. They made their way home from there.
On Sunday, we would meet at 6PM sharp with no time to waste, and picked up the same four guys and off to NC arriving before 6AM for roll call. The charge was seven buck each way.
Sorry, went off a little. Now, my second car was my dream car.at that time. A new
1970-1/2 Z28 Camaro which I bought after I got out of the Marines.

A 1975 Monte Carlo. Mine was dark green with swivel bucket seats and an 8 track player.
