Re: For my fellow Northern tough guys:
I am ashamed to say that I don’t coat the snow blower at all. I enjoy scraping the slush out of the chute and augers. It reminds me of making snow cones.

And, you're probably wearing shorts as you do it UD.

Re: For my fellow Northern tough guys:
DuPont "Snow and Ice" is some good stuff, has Teflon and silicone in it. "Snow Jet" is another one I have used but I liked the DuPont one better.

I use silicone spray on the auger every time I snow blow the driveway. Not familiar with DuPont Snow and Ice I will have to check that out.

No, but I think it is done all the time. Another word for "cat" though.

•Rarely have I ever used anything to coat
my snowblowers’ augers/impellers/chutes.
•However this year, I’m thinking about
trying out a couple of the “available for
residential usage” Coating products that
claim to provide excellent Icephobicity.
(These are not the same Spray-on
De-icers that are used on aircraft.)
-If I do, I’ll let you know how it goes.

I spray the Agri-Fab ice melt spreader with silicone after rinsing it off, does that count?

Re: For my fellow Northern tough guys:
Tried Bead Maker on my snow shovel last year. It worked, but wore off after a few uses. Was thinking of trying Carpro's Reload for my shovels and snow blower this year. Any reason why this would not be a good idea?
