Sometimes it's nice to just bring it to the pros that see them all day long. I got a Stihl trimmer from my folks a while back that sat for some time both at their place and mine before I got around to needing it. Go figure, needed a little love to get going. Dropped it off, got it back, and years later it's still a 2 pull ripper.
I fix cars all day, but haven't dug into small engine stuff for a while now. Plus, it also depends on how long a list you have going of other stuff that needs to get done...

Thank you sir. It certainly turns a few heads with the condition it's in and age overall. I took my son out again today to continue getting used to it. He's not quite 16 yet and still learning to drive of course but getting used to this vs my car or my wife's is something that takes a few days and it was his first time out in it. The reverse it true as well given I've been driving this vs my Red Sport.

True enough, but I don't trust anyone touching my mechanical devices. (Cars, boats, or yard/snow machines).
If I lived in Andover, I'd reconcider on the cars though....
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

the gentleman recommended if i don't have to use it a lot (which i don't), then to buy this (below) as it's pre-mixed and RTU (just pour and go). i paid around $14 (good for around two years once open). this way i don't have to worry about not getting the exact mixed (gas/oil) ratio which can cause problems at some point...

Log splitter finally bit the dust. The Briggs and Stratton gave me 18 hassle free years. Going yank this engine and replace it with a Honda. That should last me the rest of the trip. by the way this unit has been sitting outside all this time. Maybe I’ll give it a little more love this time around.
