Who remembers Norm Abram and the New Yankee Workshop?
The New Yankee Workshop - YouTube
I watched this in my teens, jealous of all his nice tools.

Also remember watching “The Woodwright’s Shop” on the same channel, where the guy only used only early manual tools to build stuff.

Successfully navigated around the neighborhood. Since it's been raining, I wasn't doing an actual hike today so I just did a test today. Next test will be a state park.

I mainly use my Samsung Galaxy Watch for activity tracking. The Inreach Mini 2 has capability to connect to satellites to do SOS, text messaging and location sharing. No serious hiking coming up so I haven't subscribed yet.

Re: What did you do today non-detailing related?
To start this post, I'm going to say how much I hate trailers! To the point where I don't even have a tow bar (hitch) fitted to my workhorse.
Why go to all the trouble of connecting and disconnecting, the cost of yearly registration and then having somewhere to store the bloody thing when you can simply buy the right vehicle to begin with. I always think of this when I see tradesmen driving around in their dual-cab bro-dozers...............towing a trailer to carry all their tools because the tray is too small.
But most of all, I hate trailers because I couldn't reverse one to save my life............until today.
Over the last couple of weeks, I have been doing some winter pruning at my client's place, the big trailer was loaded up with tree branches as I went along. Because the client is now vision impaired, he needs help with driving, so I was the chauffeur using the 200-series Landcruiser. (I love that car by the way, the diesel V8 might be a bit of an underperformer on paper, but its super nice to lay into the throttle and waft along.)
I did warn him that I can't back a trailer, with him being super calm and explained it to me in the most simplistic terms, "if you see the trailer in your right mirror, right hand down, if see the trailer in your left mirror, left hand down".
I have had so many people try and teach me this over the years, but that simple advice had me reversing a tailer properly for the first time ever! I once had a very blokey bloke tell me once that "you're not a real man until you can back a trailer".....................I feel like a real man now.
