Yeah, it certainly wasn’t my choice
Not sure what she was thinking but I know when to pick my battles and this wasn’t one of them
Nothing money can’t fix anyway
Vapor barrier?
No, and that would be a new one on me
My son just finished putting down LVP in his house (our old house) with the help of a mutual friend who does this for a living and vapor barrier was never mentioned
After you expressed concerns about using the LVP in possible damp environments I went back and reviewed the product
“30 Years, Residential Resilient Limited Warranty - Defects, Wear, Waterproof, Petproof”
Says it’s absolutely fine in bathrooms, kitchens, etc
Not sure what to tell you, I’m no pro at this so I guess I’m trusting the contractor
I just looked on line a bit and a vapor barrier is suggested on concrete, especially below grade, but our house has a heated and super insulated crawl space that should be dry as a bone…
I guess when you come visit you can check it out

Haha sounds good. Yeah idk when we put our floor down almost 10years ago now we had installed this red foamish type matting, a vapor/sound barrier/coushion for the flooring. Maybe it was cuz our house wasnt new. Or the flooring is a bit different/has changed. Beats me...the fatherinlaw is the carpenter not me, although he did teach me alot.
Thee abode is coming along nicley though brother

Thanks for the kind words
I know when I put down Pergo more than 20 years ago in our house out in the bush it required an underlayment that was a turquoise blue thin foamy/plasticky stuff
The LVP has a built in thin black foam/rubber/whatever backing
I doubt it’s a vapor barrier though, more like sound deadening and to help with the underfoot feel
I can’t keep up with modern construction and I honestly don’t try
Anything that got done when we lived in the bush I did simply out of necessity
This time around I just write checks…
I mean there’s checks in the checkbook so we must have money right?

I finished repairing my X-Wing. I had it hanging from a stick on hook in the corner of the garage. Last summer the hook came unstuck, it fell, and all the fiddly bits broke off. I had to use a cut up paper clip to support the laser cannons.
