Better than that, paid the extra for "lux". Full recliners, meal delivered when you want, ordered a German hot dog (kransky) with sauerkraut and mustard with fries. Enjoyed the movie as well, very funny.

What did you do today non-detailing related?

I picked up my car from the mechanic this past Monday and there was somekind of dried liquid that left spots on the windshield so he apologized for that and quikly wiped the windshield clean with an old microfiber towel… Then he started to go for that extra mile and began wiping the fender and I politely told him it was ok, “don’t worry about that I’ll take care of it. You never want to wipedown the paint without some sort of lubricant or you can scratch the paint”

He tried to tell me “oh it’s ok these towels are good they won’t scratch”… Thats when I spoke up and stopped being polite because this guy was literally wiping down my fender with a dirty ass greasy Kirkland, I said “no I insist. Don’t wipe my paint with a dry towel. You will scratch my paint, I’m sure you will so stop”

We laughed about it, but geez. Lol. He may know more than I’ll ever know about how to fix my car, but damnit you’ll never know as much as I do when it comes to cleaning it.What did you do today non-detailing related?lol.

My Cadillac needs major work and I've been a nervous wreck. Im going to send it to the most meticulous mechanic I'm aware of. I already met him and he seems to understand how an obsessed detailed thinks. He worked on my dad's car last year.

Of course I will instruct him and his assistants not to wipe the paint. Thankfully the work to be done is all on the underneath of the car so there should be minimum contact with the top

This will be like a cloud hanging over me until this is all done. I plan to wait until Hurricane season is over before I send it in

Job well done at refraning from slappin the mechaanics hand lol.

Luckily the shop i use when i need one of the few things done that i wont do myself, he told me he laid some microfiber towels over the fender since he knew how anal i was...and that he doesnt do that for just anybodyWhat did you do today non-detailing related?

And I get madd when folks feel the need to rub their fingers on a freahly paint corrected surface to "feel" how smooth it is. Like hey sonny...i promise you its smooth. How about at least feel the surface in a inconspicuous spot. I just spent hours on this for you to f it all up with your fingers

Uh oh, I hear Northstars can have their problems

I apparently I need a new fuel pump so the car has to be towed. The mechanic told me he will do a test to make sure that indeed is the problem.

This is the first big problem I’ve had with this car in over 25 years of ownership so I really can’t be too upset.

Ahh that shouldn’t be too bad. I had the fuel pump go out on my old 82’ Biarritz. I towed it across town to my shadetree mechanic at the time and he said when he went to bring the tank down it turned into a near disaster because he wasn’t ready or expecting it to be so incredibly heavy it nearly crushed him… I said “oh yea, the tank’s completely full”What did you do today non-detailing related? What did you do today non-detailing related? What did you do today non-detailing related?lol.

I didn’t laugh in his face, but holy chit it was funny. What did you do today non-detailing related?lol.
