Wife wanted to know about the cut of steak too.
Thanks, kid.

Last night's treat to myself after my detail:
Caprese salad with arugula, shaved romano, tomatoes and lemon vinaigrette.
Sirloin served with mashed potatoes, roasted brussel sprouts and a basalmic vinaigrette.
Dessert: Mable Bourbon Manhattan... made with Elijah Craig Bourbon, lemon and maple syrup.

Re: What are you eating?
So my wife and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary here this afternoon. I'm quite the foodie and I've been here in Chicagoland for almost 10 years and this is the 1st time I've been here, yet have driven by it for years, just never got around to going there. Now back home in Detroit we've got 1 section of the city where it's Mexican restaraunt and neighborhood, it's called Mexican Town, how original but this particular town is called Little Village and I'm embarrassed its taken me so long to go here.
First off LISTEN TO ME....this place is incredible! It easily passed my chips and salsa test, 4 different salsas and thick, homemade chips, WIN! Next they serve Coke but not fountain, can or glass bottle, hell yeah!! Then they brought out this pork appetizer, REALLY GOOD! My wife orderd a combination platter but also ordered guacamole and she declared it to be the best ever. I ordered carne asada w/corn shells, ofcoarse but when it came to the table people were looking at us, the sizzle and how big the plate was. I've never had fajitas that came with potatoes, they were really, really good but let's talk about the rice...a vibrant orange and fluffy and flavorful! On the other side were the refried beans and I know what you thinking "yeah Rog, refried beans no biggie"....WRONG! These beans just killed it and to make them even better being on the hot skillet made them not only stay HOT, pretty hot actually but crusty on the bottom, a pleasant surprise! Now onto the main event...the carne asada (skirt steak), I mean look at it in the picture and don't try and blame me for trying to grab a fork and knife and trying to cut yourself some throw your screen, that's on you, LOL. I mean....just look at that masterpiece
For desert our old nanny made us a cake but we left it in the car but they brought out this fruit melody with this sauce, very tasty. Needless to say I didn't leave hungry and left him a 40% tip, no I'm not rich but it's a special occasion and I was very impressed with the authenticity of the food, the great service and ofcoarse the taste of the food, my eyes were rolling into the back of my head the entire time, I really enjoy a good meal
If you plan on coming to Chicago, you MUST go to Nuevo Leon, period!
