Congratulations on the successful move!
Moving is soooo much work!
Also, I edited the title of this thread to reflect, (no pun intended), your new forum nickname.

Congratulations on making it out West.
As you found the hard way, heat is a killer. Take it easy while acclimating.
And in case you miss the snow, we may have one more storm before winter is over, so keep an eye on the weather up north.

Congratulations on the successful move. I spent 40 years in that heat and found the older you get the harder it is. Keep hydrated and the best way to check is the good old urine test. If it looks like beer your gonna be in trouble. The Wife and I finally retired and playing the snow bird game. In Flagstaff and current temperature is 56. It sure beats what you are going to see. Good luck.

How exciting! You know, if we move anywhere else in New Zealand . . . we would still be pretty much in the same place. From where we live, it would be no more than a ten hour drive to each end of the country, & never more than four hours from East to West no matter where you are in NZ. For you its almost like moving to another country, what an absolutely epic journey & new start, wow! Very cool.
Aaryn NZ.
Actually Aaryn, Moving from NH to AZ is more like another planet... Mars comes to mind. I have several places I'd like to travel to, NZ, Australia, Scotland and Shetland. I wanted to go to Newfoundland but I should have done that before I left New England. It's been exciting and the folks in AZ are very friendly, the place is slower, no one has honked their horn at me. Everyone I talk to from my Doc, to the lady at the power company are all willing to spend at least a 1/2 hour giving me tips on how to adjust. Even my first haircut experience was different and outstanding. They offered me a beer! LOL. I passed on the beer, but the hair cut was great.
My biggest issue is acclimation right now. The only way I can explain it is it's like waking up with a hangover, but I didn't drink. My doc said it will take a good couple of months.
