    Shop-vac hose replacement suggestions

I have been searching a few alternatives and I am stuck, so I am turning to everyone here for some guidance.

I'm so frustrated with the hose on my current shop-vac and looking for a more flexible and longer replacement. The vac hose is 7' long and 2.5" diameter on a ridgid shop-vac and I feel like it is too short. Every time I use it, I feel like I am fighting it to twist it the way that I want to reach a certain area in the vehicle. I'd like something 15' or longer so I don't have to keep moving the vac around the vehicle, but flexibility is the most important thing to me as twisting my wrist certain ways causes pain from an old injury. Should I go with a smaller diameter than what I currently have?

Any suggestions on a replacement would be greatly appreciated!

There looks like there are a couple options for you if you search "ridgid shopvac hose".

I don't have any experience with anything other than my stock one.

I'd suggest checking janitorial supply stores.

I bought three of the extension hoses and couplers. Never had any problem with them. And I have now been using them for five years. Only had a clog once. it was easy to find since I could uncouple the hoses and push the clog out with a stick.
Plus I uncouple them to make them easier to store in the garage. I hang them over a roof joist.

I agree. The orange hose is part of the auto detailing kit 1-1/4" diameter and 10' long. It works so much better than the bigger hose.
