Anyone excited about the new NFL season?

I used to be, but now that the NFL has whored itself out to all these networks for billions of dollars, and put just about every team on the schedule for 5 night games, I'm about done.

I live in NY, and have been a Giants fan for 40 years. But, with local start times at 8:30 (8:40 really), I can't stay up until midnight to watch the whole game. I get up at 5 am for work.

Teams play 16 games, and if I can't watch roughly 1/3 of the season, why bother at all?

I know this is just an East coast kind of thing, but..........

Anyone else feel the same?

I sort of know how you feel... Except the thing I've found majorly annoying is the same repetitive commercials.... I can already hear Chris Leary's annoying "fake tough guy" voice for the same Ford Truck commercials that play over and over again every single year... I'll make sure to never but a Ford truck, ever. Lol.

I also cannot stand fantasy football and how the networks try to shove it down your throat with the endless commercials. NFL players Have to wear pink for a whole month of the NFL season [even though not a single female plays NFL football]... The list goes on and on. This is why I like Redzone channel and pretty much Never watch a game on network TV unless the Saints are on. Who Dat?!

Always the pre season promise and real season let down. Having lived here since 1982 I'm allowed to say so.

I'm a Dolphin fan so No. NHL is what I'm anxious to see get going this year as well as college football.

I'm in Los Angeles. Hated the Raiders and they are gone. Couldn't care less about the Ram's and they are back again.

I used to deliver the Evening Outlook to their business office on Pico Blvd and they were MURDER to try and collect from. I would stop their delivery and get yelled at by the district manager. I told him no pay, no paper. And the cheap bastards NEVER tipped. Not once.

I use to love sports, now I hate sports. It's nothing but a big waste of time. So much more important stuff in the world to focus on and work on. Analyzing your favorite teams statistics will get you no where fast in life lol

I've never been much for spectating. I used to follow the Oilers as a kid, but lost interest when Bud Adams started threatening to move them unless tax payer money was spent on upgrades to the dome and then once he got that wanted a new stadium. That disinterest has been cemented since moving to DFW and having to endure all the Cowboy/Jerry Jones nonsense.

Just south of St. Louis here. I am very excited. We are free agents now and can watch and root for whomever we want. No more guilt over the hapless Rams.
