I noticed a build up of silver colored contamination on my clay mitt when doing a customer's car the other day. After I asked the customer if he had used any silver paint in the garage. He said no.

He had another vehicle in the garage that was a early 60's car with a high performance motor that he starts up and lets run occasionally.

Could the the silver contaminates be lead from leaded race fuel?

It only took a couple quick passes with my mitt to remove it.

On a side note; The customer had used PS21 wax(not sure which one) on the car "last summer" and the car beaded like crazy during the rinse off. Even in the rear where there was more contamination. The car is garage kept.
