3M Paint Defect Removal Hand System
Lately I have been doing research and getting ideas on tools that we could utilize in the body shop to help make our job easier whether it be new sanders, bumper stands, creepers, etc. Being that I detail on the side, I always look for ways to raise our finished product quality after painting. The biggest thing is effectively removing foreign debris particles from the paint such as dust inclusions.
There are a few different ways to approach this. Either by hand or machine. However most of the time whatever method we select often times the sanding material is often time too big for the task at hand. If you have a small isolated spot that needs repaired you can grab either a machine or accomplish it by hand. The problem will be that your device of choice will likely be a 3" setup.
After doing some research I came across this kit offered by 3M. It features a small handheld plate that will accommodate 32mm sanding rosettes. This will allow you to intricately work the affected area with a path the width of your thumb without affecting to much of the surrounding paint.
I have done a bit of testing with just the 32mm handheld disc plate and 2500 girt sanding rosette that a coworker showed me. After diving in looking for more research on what I used I found this complete kit. I think this would be a great addition to the AG store and will provide a small write up with pictures if anyone is interested.

If you are not paying for it personally, then perhaps the 3M denibber would suit your needs. I'll PM you the other option.
Mirka also makes a 1 1/4" pneumatic denibber IIRC

Sounds good. I think I may order the 3M system first for the shop and give it a go.
I saw that Mirka unit. Pretty slick. Maybe that one will be ordered as well.
