I hope I am on Santa's Good List so I can get one!! But again thank you so mch for pointing out the XCE. I am happy to see Flex bring 2 DA's. A free float and a forced rotation. I like the latter and that is on my I am gonna get list!!

    Take care!!
That is awesome! I need another polisher for the shop rig. This will probably be the one - with the new Rupes tool.

TBH I don't think the market needs yet another long throw DA. I would've gone nuts for a smaller 3401 type machine for tight areas.

I thing the long throw Flex might sell some units initially, but die off quickly. The XCE will sell very good, though.

    I agree. http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/...ml#post1312160

Although I can't argue with this "improved" 3401 if it's lighter and quieter--I wonder where the price will fall in? FWIW the 3401 is way more expensive now than when it first came out.

With my small amount of "muscle memory"...
(coupled with whatever little bit of muscles that
    I have left)...the 3401 was never my cup-o'-tea.

    Agreed on both counts.

I like the 3401 best with 6.5" pads. Maybe it was designed with that size in mind, but it just seems to run very naturally with that size pad. Maybe the 4, 7/8" plate isn't covering enough of the pad for me as well..

A forced rotation 3 " - 5" facilitating machine.... that would be interesting. I wouldn't be concerned with the throw eithet. 8mm works fine for me.

NNNNNooooooooo!!!!!!! I think this is the 2nd time I have to disagree with AGO's Human Encyclopedia!! I am a Flex 3401 Guy! Always will too!!

But with Flex's free floating DA I still am not interested in that one. I am very interested in the Flex XCE a forced rotation DA!

But overall, floating DA, Forced rotation DA, Cyclone DA means one thing...choices for all of us!! Ford, Chevy and Dodge battle of the DA's. Since I am a Ford guy the Flex is a Ford to me....LOL

But disagreeing with you for like the 2nd time....man!! LOL
