Re: *NEW* Cobra Clay Mitt IN ACTION @ September 2015 Boot Camp Clas

Mike, how do you like clay towels vs the auto scrub clay pad?

I bought the clay pad when they first hit the market. It's about ready to be thrown away.

Which product I like best depends on at one step of the detailing process I'm mechanically decontaminating the paint.

For new cars where I'm washing them with actual running water then I like the wash mitt like the Cobra Clay Mitt you see being used in my class in this thread.

For cool cars, these would mostly be cars I never wash because as a rule I never introduce running water to cars where I don't want to create any potential rust issues, then because I'm not using running water I like the Nanoskin Autoscrub Pads on a Flex 3401.

I state this in my Flex 3401 book.

How to use the Flex 3401 for Show Car Detailing

And that is how I mechanically decontaminated this old car....

But anytime I'm going to detail a car and by the word "detail" I mean at some point I'm going to machine polish the paint AND I'm going to wash the car then I reach for the mitt and a foam gun and also some Iron X.

Might as well knock out as many steps as possible while the car is being washed.
