    Leather Seat Issue

While my wife's Acura RDX is not new, it is less than 2 yrs old.

She is having issues with her leather drivers seat. Rather than the light beige color, the seat is turning a very light blue color. She feels her jeans are doing the damage.

So my question to all is what can be done to shied the leather seat and keep in free from turning this ugly blue color?

What can be used to get the blue out as well?

    Thanks everyone!

Plus one to Bob's suggestion. I used his advice and am very happy with the results!

I will have to share this post with my wife.

    Very funny comments....

I pulled the trigger on LM dye remover.

    Re: Leather Seat Issue

Here's the deal if it's a blue jean transfer. It's one dye transferring to another. Although your seats have a clear coat of sorts a dye, like ink for instance, can and will be absorbed by the leather.

So to clean you can try Acetone. It's a fairly "safe" solvent and flashes quickly. Goof Off on the other hand I would never recommend to be used on leather/plastics.

An eraser sponge can be used also with a mild cleanser. Careful though as too much rubbing can wear through the leather finish in no time.

To stop that dye transfer from happening...stop buying her those cheap jeans!

I used the CG leather cleaner followed by their conditioner on my wife's MDX tan leather. A few months later there was blue again, but one wipe with the cleaner it was gone.
