Haven't we already been through this with Ultima?

    I'm sure they are not.

this is a hangover from when C1 was very very fast curing and we could only resell to professionals. but the product was amazing for trim and rims where a slight smear of excess product would not be difficult to deal with and so we were happy selling to non-pro detailers.

moving forward we made the c1 formula much slower curing which allowed us to open it up for resale to non-pro detailers. don't get me wrong - it still cures hard, but your working time is way way longer.

each bottle is designed to have just enough product for the application it is directed for both because it's expensive stuff and also because once opened the bottle should be used relatively quickly (ie sub 2 months).

all bottles are priced exactly the same so commercially we are not exploiting this.

one thing people have to remember is Dr. G. likely has formulas in his lab that we don't even know about. i know how polymer chemists operate, and to be honest - he probably is two steps ahead of the competition already.

this is why i've become such a proponent of OPT because he always seems to be at the apex, time after time.

however, i am glad to see more options for the crowd to try - competition drives the market toward progression!!!

Re: Gtechniq - Now Available at Autogeek!

with exo you get a inorganic quartz layer that bonds chemically with your paintwork and in essence is a permanent layer of quartz. but same time it contains an organic top layer which gives all the nice things you get from a wax such as a nice slick feel, wet look and extreme hydrophobic function (more so than you would get from a wax).

exo is somewhat swirl resistant but what's neat about it is that it also works with C1/opti seal/c-quartz silicon dioxide (quartz) and silicon carbide coatings. so you can build a scratch resistant layer and then add exo for all it's functionality.

is this really necessary? if you are running a non metallic dark car with a soft finish then sure. but if your vehicle is a light metallic with a hard clear coat then probably not - a double coating of exo is going to work superbly for you.

    gtechrob,

Thank you for the comments and clarifications.

Can C1.5 used as a booster for polymer sealants in general?

Get used to it, because you're going to be saying that a lot as Autogeek now carries Gtechniq Exterior Coatings. That means one of Europe's most talked about lines of surface care products is only a couple clicks and a few business days away from being on your door step. You will no longer will you have to wait for a shipment of your favorite Gtechniq product from across the pond, er, Atlantic Ocean.

Pakshak In Hawaii was carrying Gtechniq and shipping to the US and other parts of the world since 2010...
