i let mine hang to dry. I used the fine grade version on my black car and didn't notice any marring at all. I love how quickly you can clay the vehicle with this. I believe I have found a substitute for the clay

I love these pads.only downfall,for me is they dont last near 100 cars lol maybe 10 for me. Otherwise they are great i havent used a clay bar for a long time!!!

This thread addresses the Speedy Prep Towel. I think you are talking about the pads. The towels do last for a very long time when used correctly. My towels are over two years old and going strong. I can't speak to the life of the pads since I have tried them in a demo only.
