Re: Chemical Guys Hybrid V7 - It's Here and it Impresses

I have been using this for about 5 months now and I really like it. I also have Optimum Instant Detailer but when I want a nice shine and a slick finish this is my favorite. It doesn't dilute like Optimum so obviously more costly but a gallon will still last for a while.

I typically do "no rinse" washes, and with a panel still wet, I'll either spray the panel with a little HV7 or some QD, then dry it.

When done with the entire car, I may go over it with HV7 or QD as well.

It's ok to use while panel is damp and it actually aids by adding lubricity in the drying process so your towel doesn't accidentally leave behind any nasties. I've been using V7 since it's inception and find it's the best of any QD I've used.

Thanks, Erich. I get that it's a barrier b/w the towel and paint, but will you get the same 'POP' and sealant (to the degree that is actually true) effect when used as a drying aid, or will those benes really come from applying to a dry surface? This stuff is not cheap

Right I gotcha, best way to use IMO is on a dry surface to get max effect. It is expensive to just use as a drying aid.

That's exactly the way I was looking at it. For the price of V7, might as well use a cheaper OTC drying aid, if any. Personally, I almost never 'wipe' when drying and just blot.

Thanks vm. I'll save my V7 for delivering the post dry 'pop.

I can't wait to use it--I just ordered it with the free shipping. We'll see how it looks over Blacklight/Souveran
