Re: Blackfire Crystal Seal - The 11 Minute Paint Sealant
Hi all, do you recommend using BF Crystal Seal on aluminum wheels with factory clear coat? The Volvo S60 is about 2 months young.
Also, about how long will the BF Crystal Seal protect the wheels?
And, about how long would Collinite 845 protect the wheels? (I saw that idea on quite a few threads.)
I'd appreciate any advice! Thanks.

You can use Blackfire Crystal Seal on all wheel finishes. Collinite 845 makes for a more durable wheel sealant, but Crystal Seal is much less time consuming to apply.

Re: Blackfire Crystal Seal - The 11 Minute Paint Sealant
Thanks for the reply re: Crystal Seal on the wheels, Nick. So I have an idea when to reapply the product on the wheels, do you know about how long the BF Crystal Seal will protect the wheels?
And, the same question about how long the Collinite 845 will protect the wheels. Trying to decide which way to go....
Thanks, again! This new hobby is a blast!

One application of Crystal Seal on your wheels should yield 2-3 months of protection, but because the product is so easy to use and so little is required, I generally apply a coat after every other wash.
If you apply two coats of Collinite 845 to your wheels you can easily expect 5-6 months of protection.

Re: Blackfire Crystal Seal - The 11 Minute Paint Sealant
Nick, good idea about frequent application...I watched a video of the BF crystal seal, and it is really fast and easy to apply -- and it looks great! I think I'll use the BF Crystal seal during all but the winter (Northeast), when I'll apply the collonite in the late fall to last longer thru the winter.
I also like that you pointed out that I can cheat and use the same product for headlights/tailights, wheels, and the paint. I'm already in hot water for sinking $400 plus into this new hobby in less than 2 weeks -- with a wish list over $200!

It's not cheating when the product works just as good if not better than other products designed solely for one intended use.

V7 works on wheels, but it won't be as quick to apply as Crystal Seal.

If you have wheels with an intricate design, spray directly onto the applicator of choice and then apply. If the wheels feature large, wide spokes, spray directly onto the wheel.
