I'm missing something, you feel as if you have wasted your money on your 60+ foam pads that you think you should just throw out now and buy Optimum MF pads, but at the same time you are saying the marketing stinks for these pads and you don't know anything about them...huh?

Re: First Impression: Optimum Microfiber Polishing Pads

Ok, ok...I only have another 20 or 30 years until I wear out all my foam pads so I can get some of these newfangled MF pads, or whatever micro-carbon nanotube-fiber thing they have in 2040...

Actually, I did get some of the Meg's MF pads...only played with them a little but they are great for polishing DVD's and CD's on the GG 3"...

its there I guess you just missed reading the 1000 threads about how everyone loves the megs pads and all the benefits they get from them. I will say probably get the same deal with these but these can be used on a rotary and megs cant. its kinda hard to get all kind of info on a pad that was leaked and not supposed to be out till SEMA..I think it was nice they decided to sell them early instead of waiting for SEMA. there is PLENTY of info out there you just dont seem to want to look.

Do you live under a rock? I'm from West Virginia and even I understand this, the polishing pad is out now and the cutting pad will be out later.

oie! wasnt this product leaked? and what point would it make for a company to just put out a polishing pad and not a cutting pad...i cant wait untill sema to read about the new products being released, sadly i cant afford sema nor could i get in right now so maybe in the future!.sema is like new york fashion week for us car guys!. ill wait untill after sema to make a purchase of these pads, reason one is i would want both pads, reason 2 is for more end user input regarding the product. good things come to those who wait!

Usually, optimum does it well and they never release a product just for fun, there's always an innovation behind the product or something new to the industry but, in this case, all I see is a ''following-attitude'' product.

I can't believe they wasted X amount of times on this pad for nothing but tell us why it's better, what it does. I'm highly interesting in everything Optimum release but I feel like : MOOAARRR info please!!
Ok, first I would never advocate selling/tossing all your pads because you will find that for OEM finishes the MF will perform better in two steps than foam will in three, but you will run into some paint finishes that you may need to use a different approach on and then you may need the multiple choices of foam to dial in the perfect finish. Basically, on 95% of your details, you will benefit by saving time...and time is money. Another benefit is reduced cost per car by means of product usage. These pads are considerably less absorbant than any foam pad. Combine that attribute with the Hyper sprays and you'll be using a fraction of the product you would with the pad priming techniques we've grown used to over the past few years. As an example, only one spray is needed to prime the Optimum MF pad and then a single spray for each of the following sections (18"x18" to 24"x24" on average). Our foam choice is not closed cell like Meg's but open cell which runs cooler and will certainly enhance longevity. They can be cleaned on the fly with a pad conditioning brush, or a pad washer and are washing machine safe too. Another benefit is price point especially when buying in 3 or six packs.

I will provide more info as needed, just realize that these were pushed out a little early and all the pieces aren't in place yet. Come November, we'll have DA and Rotary Backing plates in all sizes as well as the cutting pads. Also, while we will be marketing this as a complete system using the Hyper Sprays, you can certainly use our pastes and Poliseal, too.
