NY946, I have to say that those pics look awesome. The finish on the car before you started was swirled and dull for real? I have to admit I was kinda skeptical about the product because it was Turtle Wax, but after seeing this result my opinion was off base. Thanks for sharing the pics.

I see alot of people using this on other car forums. I also see reviews where the fillers wash off eventually.

So, would someone be better off using a sealer over this??

All I have to say about this kit is that after I started browsing AG and using the products mentioned on this site I no longer have any desire to use the Turtle Wax Black Box kit. You might want to check out CG EZ Creme Glaze II if you're looking for a good filler/glaze to reduce the appearance of scratches or chips. I've had some very nice results with topping this off with Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection.

This was my go-to combination for about a year on my black Civic Si until I picked up a buffer and polished everything out.

I've used the box once or twice before on black metallic. The first time was when the paint was newer and the car looked awesome to the point of people stopping in the street as I did it. The second time was about 50k miles later and didn't seem to come out as great, but looked nice. They didn't really hold up for very long though.

I'm liking this combo now. Topped once with Natty's Blue earlier this summer and intend on topping with Collinite for the winter:

Personally, I use Poorboys black hole glaze topped with Meguiars M21 sealer. Looks awesome!!

Glad you had success using this product.

It would probably be unbelievable if we knew of the commonalities of the chemicals/ingredients used in the car-care-products and cosmetics/personal-care-products industries.

Wonder if Black Box has the same quality of black iron-oxides found in some of the products located in the cosmetics aisles at the drug stores?

You guys haven't gone Gothic, have you?

Isn't this product just another gimmick? IMO...Yes.

If it looks great and if you don't mind the fact that it will start to deteriorate from the moment you apply it, then enjoy! In 3-4 weeks, you'll be back at it again. I like to have all my correction done before I apply a sealant or wax. IMHO the car should look like it's already been waxed before you apply the wax or sealant. That way I correct once or twice a year and just replace sealant and wax every few months/weeks. That being said if you are looking for an AIO that you can use every few weeks and not get involved in the rest, go for it.

Interesting to come across this thread..I was traveling for work this last week and a bird bombed my hood in the hotel parking lot. I went to the nearest wally world to grab the normal Meg Ultimate quik detailer and noticed they were selling the Turtle Wax Black detailer as a stand alone bottle. I used it and it looked good, but tough to really tell in the cloudy conditions how much it really looked.

As far as "filling", if your car is already sealed (wolfgang) then can even the temporary benefits of a "filler detailer" (just made that up) be realized?

I was mainly just intrigued that they it was available without buying the black box.

I haven't heard about this turtle wax since I heard it in this thread. I don't care if this was is only for black car it because my car is black.. lOL... I am also amaze to see those pictures.... Awesome, can't wait to try it....

Okay, forgive me for being a detail-snob, but I personally think that all Turtle Wax products are bad. I have tried a few color specific waxes, and the difference is extremely subtle. Your money would be better spent on a good carnauba wax, like P21S Concours-Look carnauba, or Dodo Juice Supernatural Wax. I tried about 6 different color-specific waxes at the end of the summer, and I thought that the better 2 were Zymol Carbon for dark colored cars and Dodo Juice Orange Crush for warm colored cars.
