CCS Smart Pads™ Dual Action 5.5 inch Foam Pads by Lake Country
All the benefits of CCS Technology packed into low profile 5.5 inch pads.
The CCS Smart Pads™ Dual Action 5.5 inch Professional Foam Pads are smaller versions of our 6.5 inch DA foam pads. The low profile 5.5 inch buffing pads pack the same CCS technology and performance into a compact, highly effective size that works best with dual action polishers and air sanders.
AND!!! They are on sale right now!
Check them out!!

If you have yet to try these you are missing out...
This and lo pro LC pads are my favorite foam pads period.
In my observations the smaller size provides easier/faster correction.

I agree except for the low-profile of the pad as I prefer a thicker foam

I agree after finally getting my UDM I prefer the 5.5 pads that were the freebies over the 6.5 pads. I also am interested in a package.

do the velcro backings on these go to the edge or stop before the edge?

Quick question...
Would these pads work with the Flex?
What's the size backing plate on the Flex, and can you use a 5" BP?
Thanks!

Just a personal preference for 'thicker' foam is that when I apply pressure the foam compresses and I know not too go further, plus I like the cushion of’thicker’ foam. These thinner pads are 7/8” thick and offer less resistance to the heat and vibration generated by the machine.
Originally, a 1-1/4 inch pad thickness was set as an industry standard because it prevented residues from reaching the backing plate. I wonder what the life span is compared too standard foam?
I was given a sample to evaluate but haven't had the time to test them yet, so as I said personal preference, not based upon any factual tested findings

Thank you! I assume less foam would also mean more heat transfer onto velcro/bp, higher heat concentration, and higher chance of more intense heat spot if distance between surface of profile being polished and velcro is becoming too small due to lack of "cushion"? What is your educated guess are same reasons that are making lower profile pads desirable also making them inherently more "dangerous" to work with?
