Does anyone know if blue tinted Clear coat on a yellow school bus will make it appear green?

So...are you trying to turn your school bus green?

Or...you live somewhere where pollen season has started and you are wondering if your school bus looks green because of the pollen or if some prankster painted it with blue tinted clearcoat?

I surely don't have any experience with painting school buses with blue-tinted clear, and I'm somehow pretty sure no other forum members do either.

So I give up...why are you asking?

I actually showed this to my wife before I answered, and said this is about the strangest question I've ever heard asked.

My guess would be "yes".

Tinting a clear coat IS USED to alter the final visible appearance of a paint job. That's a fact.


Now the question is why?

Why would someone want to spray a blue tinted clear over a yellow school bus? If a person wants a green school bus simply spray it green.

Good point, Mike.

Another forum I was a member on a while back had an "Abyss" sub-section.

Posts that were a little "off kilter" but not necessarily malicious in nature were shuttled there. Still free to be answered, but I think the OP's all kind of got the message.

I didn't find it offensive in any way either. In fact, a good many posts moved to the "Abyss" got guys laughing and buoyed the spirits of the OP's to participate a little more.

And this was on a forum not NEARLY as friendly as AGO.
