    Greetings from Texas

    Howdy,

Well, I've not been a lurker, I just ended up here after deciding to wax my own car. Down here in Houston you can get your car waxed pretty cheap, but they do a terrible job; don't even clean off pine sap or bug splatters. I guess you get what you pay for, but my pockets aren't deep enough to pay for everything I need to get done, and I figure this is something I can do myself.

So I thought I'd buy one of those $29.95 buffers, a can of turtle wax and have at it.. Ah, but which buffer to buy? Research on the net told me they were all pretty much cr@p and everyone was lauding the PC 7424. I picked one up... Now I've figured out what pads I need and I've been ordering them from Autogeek. (I'm actually working on yet another order soon as I figure out what polishes/glazes/waxes I need.)

So I have 3 cars that need tending, an 89 BMW 750il, a 2003 Crown Vic, and a 2007 Infiniti G35. As you can imagine, the paint on the BMW is sad, but I am told not to repaint (it only has 39k), the Crown Vic is so-so, and the Infiniti is new. And that's why I'm here, to figure out what I need to figure out and, from what I've read so far, I've come to the right place.
