    greetings!

Howdy folks. I am really glad i found this site and am hoping to get some pointers on how to properly maintain the paint on my vehicles. I am a car lover and and do all the mechanical work on our cars (including things like tranny rebuilds) but would now like to learn how to PROPERLY maintain decent looking paint. The one of most concern is my 85 Pontaic Firebird that i spent many ours restoring about 4 years ago. It still looks great but needs a little revitalization which i guess is more appropriate to describe in the other forums.

But just wanted to say HI !!!

Yup, sure do. Here is a couple. It was never meant to be a showcar but i was extrememly pleased with the way it turned out.....initially underestimated but A LOT of hours went into bringing it back to its former glory.

One of them (you can easily tell which) is a before pic. Believe it or not, that is only single stage paint (things have changed but originally it was a budget approach and was going to be an all-year round car). Which brings to mind, it looks good from a short distance but now (probably 4.5 years later) when you get close, it has a slightly cloudy look to it in the bright light......what would that be from? Until now i have always polished waxed by hand and after i do it, it look nice and then after i wash it again once or twice.....back to the cloudy look. Is that because i didn't remove enough oxidation maybe?
