Hello from The Great White North

Well, actually the South part of the North. We just downsized from 2 cars - 2004 Audi A4 Avant (Ocean Blue Pearl) and a 2005 Lexus RX330 (Silver) to one - 2013 Ford C-Max SEL Hybrid. A little ugly, but we love the paint (White Platinum Metallic Tri-Coat) and the wheels and interior Oh, and the Panoramic Roof.
Since you guys are the experts, there's a couple of things I'd like to ask, if you don't mind.
The front and back bumpers and side panels are white plastic that match the body paint (well, just a little off on the colour but they're plastic). How am I supposed to polish and/or protect them? I'm assuming we can't treat the plastic the same as the metal body.
And there are some slightly noticeable swirl marks, probably from the previous owner using automatic car washes. Will a polish like Meguiars get rid of these?
OK, one last question - is a dual action polisher like the Meguiar DA any better than an Orbital polisher like the Simonize one? Or are they similar?

    Thanks Guys and Gals
    Hedge

(I"ll upload some pictures as soon as I can figure that out)

Sorry about that. (Imagine that, a Canadian saying "sorry", eh?)
