Thanks Mike. I found your piece on the Corvette Forum about detailing a new 2014 and have acquired the black surface cleansing polish, the diamond surface coating and XTM wax.

I've seen how these cars come to the dealer with a white cloth "suit" on them... the car should be delivered within a month and I only have around 80 miles to drive it to my house. The air is usually quite clean up here in Northern Wisconsin and the U.P. so it shouldn't get much in the way of contaminates on the finish before I start with the detailing.

I have done a bit of research on polisher/buffers and figured I would go with the Harbor Freight (Chinese) machine as the Porter Cable had too many negative reviews, especially on the rotation part of "dual action" and I just don't think it's worth laying out $400 for something I would probably use only a few times a year. (Your thoughts?) What pads would you recommend?
