As a kid back in the '50's I spent hours in my dad's auto craft shop, wet sanding coat after coat of lacquer paint. He called it Hand Rubbed Lacquer. I called it Child Abuse. :-) After that I had no interest in detailing.
Flash forward to the present. I purchased a 1950's Farmall to help blade snow off of my lane. Spent a year rebuilding it, to include sanding, priming and painting. Thank you glossy enamel.
After the paint set a month I bought some paste wax and went to work. The paint immediately started started to fade and now it looks like the day I bought it.
Just bought a new pickup and was afraid to touch the paint with anything other than soap and water. Then I ran across Autogeek while surfing the net, learned a lot, and now have the courage to make it shine. I've come up with some questions, which I'll address elsewhere. But in the meantime I've started purchasing some goodies.
Thank you Autogeekers!
