Hello from Northern California
Hey there,
I recently got a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X MR in Wicked White. I travel a lot between the coast and Sierras, I wanted to protect my paint. I purchased the Forum Favorite kit, applicators and polishing pads from Autogeek/PBMA,DA polisher from Harbor Freight with a 5" plate. I finished claying/polishing/sealing/waxing the car yesterday (much better way to spend Black Friday, imo).
I did a mediocre first-time job on the polishing stage, but I am still pretty happy with the outcome, and hope it will last a few months
Lessons learned: I need small (2-3") backing plate and pads for this car. I figured out how to properly use the polisher only by the time I got to the waxing stage.
Found some weird cloudy spots about 1/4"-1/2" in size, that appear near the door handles, (acidic finger prints?) and some scrapes on the bottom of rear doors. I could not get them out. Did some search on this forum and didn't find any solutions. I can post photos if someone cares to comment.

Yeah, that's right The photos are in North Lake Tahoe, though - I used the garage there because I don't have useful garage space in Sf.
