    Re: "First-Timer" plan and questions

It came with the 5.5"ers so I'm just going to add more of those to my collection along with some smaller pads in the 3-4" range. What benefit does the cleaning spur offer? Can I just use a small fingernail brush to gently scrub the pads?

You think it's a good idea to have the XMT pad cleaner and conditioner combo AND some cleaning powder? Spray the pads with cleaner and then throw them in the bucket with the powder wash?

    Mmm steaks. Lol

The snappy powder is pretty inexpensive, it wouldn't hurt to try it out. I use a generic nylon brush for my pads. Works pretty good.

I'll pick up a few packets of washing powder with my order!
I don't see why any run of the mill brush wouldn't work on the pads. Just use some common sense.

Oh yeah then, if you only have the 5˝'s then for sure just keep building from there. I use a brush as well but the premise of the spur is the rotating wheels don't just scrub the top of the foam but actually kneed it as they spin, plus it has rough side plates (sort of like little tiny miniature cheese graters) that will rough up the edges and/or surface of a pad to soften it.

Yes indeed, fix a bucket of Snappy cleaner so once you're done with a pad it's getting cleaned while it sits there until you're done with all the pads your gonna' use that day. The XMT conditioner is great to use as a 'pre' lube when getting pads primed and of course with products that tend to have a short working time as a little help along the way. Once pulling a pad a few spritzes and kneeding a bit with the fingers (and brush/spur will help to loosen and break loose worked in product before soaking. And of course if you don't get a pad all that dirty, (like working in a sealant or wax) and just want to do a hand cleaning XMT and a little Dawn even is a great way to make that happen.

Yup, had to polish off some steaks that I cut off the big end of prime rib we had for Christmas before I cooked it. Actually we usually have the same old ham, turkey etc. and this year we decided to do prime rib for a change. Uhhhhhhh..... WOW is all I can say! From now on, it'll be a 6 Lb prime rib as that sucker was fan-freakin-tastic.

Should I go with a dedicated wheel cleaner or just use the shampoo?

Ok I'm going to get a 6-pack of flat pads so I can compare them to the CCS pads myself.

Thinking 2 orange (so i'll have 3 total), 2 white (3 total of them), and 2 black (2 of them total), and I already have a blue and red for sealant and wax.

    How does that sound?

Keep in mind there is a difference between flat pads and hydrotech pads which are also flat. AG sells both.

    I got the regular flats.
Kind of a big order so I was trying to keep the price down a little bit.
