The driest State, In the driest Continent in the world ......

Hi there from Adelaide, South Australia

With a few exceptions ... I've been an experienced detailer for many a year now. (I remember when Jesus used to play half back for Jerusalem)
I've been fortunate (or unfortunate) enough to experience many things in the wide spectrum of detailing, with humble beginnings in a high production outlet where the vehicles were washed in groups with brooms and truck wash. Sometimes up to 100 cars a shift.
The "detailer" would buff the paint before washing the car and then pressure clean before using Windex as a LSP
    Ahh those were the days!

I moved about a bit from one dodgy shop to another and was lucky enough to establish my own mobile business with some kind of success.
I often thought i worked for an idiot before ... before ultimately realising that working for myself, i was now the idiot!
I was picked up by a friend who worked at a nice Dealership. They invited me to stay a while where a normal day was spent buffing paint on more expensive machines such as Rolls Royce (love the Phantoms with 20 coats of clear on them), BMW, Mercedes, and the occasional Ferrari & even a Pagani Zonda. This is where i learned to really refine my skills & learned that people are willing to pay for quality if you know how to package it correctly.

AND this is what brings me here ...
Today, I am the Principal of a company that provides busy families & business ppl with cleaning solutions to their home. I have spent the past 4 years House Cleaning & Gardening my way to success (and lower back pain lol)
With lots of hard work we now have a small staff and a regular supply of work that we can turn on and off like a tap.

Time to go one step further and add the last piece of the puzzle to our little empire.
I'm really keen to see what has changed and what hasn't since i last took to the tools.
MY last DAP was a Porter Cable 7424 (not XP), i see there is an upgraded version now and a few other competitors on the market.
I was always a Meguiars enthusiast (thx Mike ), but keen to see what new recommendations you all have to offer.
I've been slowly getting through the plethora of detailing videos and enjoying them very much.

So that's my elongated hello .... i hope you're all still awake
Look forward to sharing and learning lots in the coming weeks.
The supply cupboard is rather sad and lonely looking .... I feel a shopping list coming on

Welcome! We have one other guy on here who I can't remember his name who offers detailing and landscaping. You gotta go where you can make a living. So it is not that surprising to hear of your path.

Any-who, welcome and as your aware this is a great group to answer dang near anything, but lotto numbers, they suck at that.
