Once you start polishing by machine you'll never go back to working by hand except for areas you can't get to by machine or for the enjoyment of hand polishing or hand waxing a cool ride like one of the Corvettes...

The Porter Cable 7424 XP is hands down the easiest tool to learn to use and master. Griot's and Meguiar's have their version of it and the trend into the future are more knock-offs of this age-old, time-proven work horse.
I whole heartedly recommend people new to machine polishing to look at the PC to start with, the design has been around for approximately 30 years and with millions of cars having been buffed out using these tools you can trust you're cars are going to come out looking great too...

Thanks everyone for welcoming me.
I post some of my articles over there once in a while, I've been a member of CF since 2002, I remember when I first joined all the regulars were always talking about how soft the clearcoat is on new Corvettes, it was a common misconception because people think that because a paint scratches easily it's soft, and that's just not the case.
Paints can be very hard and still scratch very easily, it's called, Scratch-Sensitive, actually a term coined by Barry Meguiar.
Great to see you join our forum, we'll do everything we can to see you through to success in your garage.
We have our Detailing 101 and 102 classes coming up in January, maybe plan a trip to the Autogeek Show Car Garage and reduce your learning curve and time down to almost zero...
