Hola!
Hi everybody. I would like to say I'm looking forward to using this site only for good, not evil.
Since I was 5 years old, I've been working on cars with my dad. He's taught me that cars only look complicated, but really are simple, having patience and a good mind is the key.
Since I posses neither, I make do with what I got. I love cars (only the fast one's actually) and I love having them look good. I own an '01 540, dark blue, with swirls, and I own a PC7424. Those swirls don't stand a chance.
I've been lurking on this forum for a while now and have finally decided to come out of hiding. I look forward to learning how to properly detail a car from all of you and I hope to share whatever lessons I learn myself.
Cheers!

Re: Hola!
Will do. I just need to wash it, the swirls are filled in with dirt right now.

Re: Hola!
So here are some photos of my car.
I used a PC w/ 6.5 inch LC CCS Pads
This is the hood after M105/LC Orange Pad, Pinnacle Finishing Polish/LC White Pad, and WG DGPS 3.0:
Here's the trunk after the same steps as the hood:
The front passenger door, untreated, no protection:
The lower part of the same door:
This is the passenger side C-Pillar after using a 4-inch white LC CCS Pad and Pinnacle Finishing Polish:
The gas cap, untreated, no protection:
And last, the rear fender, untreated, no protection:
My game plan is to try the least aggressive method first, but I have a feeling I'm going to need at a minimum, my Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover. I also bought some 5.5 inch LC CCS Pads thinking they'll help me get better correction.
Comments, critiques, welcomed!
P.S. I don't know if it makes a difference, but the car is an '01 BMW 540i.

Re: Hola!
The trunk and pillar looks like it need more work. You used a white 4" pad on the pillar with 105?

Re: Hola!
Yeah, I'm new to detailing so it's really only the second car I've worked on. I worked on my cousin's car first in case I made a mistake. I've only worked on the trunk and the hood of my car and the c-pillar was only a test spot. For that I used Pinnacle Finishing Polish w/ a 4-inch white polishing pad.

205 with a 4" pad should work better. Using your cousin's car as a guinea pig is a good idea.

Re: Hola!
I kind of went on a shopping spree with AG a few weeks ago and bought different types of polishes. I don't have 205, but I do have M105, SSR2, PB PwS and 85rd. I'm thinking SSR2 would be equivalent to 205, what do you think?
To be fair to my cuz, I let him know his car was a guinea pig. He obliged so I compounded his car. Came out great if you ask me.
